Vessels
We operate a fleet of 20 vessels consisting of 15 Jones Act and 5 U.S. flag ships. Jones Act vessels are qualified to serve both contiguous and non-contiguous U.S. shipping lanes.
Our most recent additions, the newly constructed Hunter Class vessels; entered into our Transpacific Services between the U.S. and Guam early in 2007. Their arrival marked the completion of the first phase of a long-term fleet enhancement strategy, which continues to produce improvements in service while reducing the age of our active fleet.
D8 or Hunter Class Vessels are the Horizon Eagle, Falcon, Hawk, Hunter and Tiger.
Redeployment of existing assets have netted capacity and efficiency gains in both the Hawaii and Puerto Rico services, also creating new opportunities for potential U.S. coastwise container services. Visit
Coastwise Shipping Solutions for more information on how Horizon Lines is looking to use our strength and experience in vessel operations to take on some of the toughest congestion and environmental challenges facing transportation today.
That's our promise.
Always There. Always Delivering.®
