PUERTO RICO SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Tropical Storm Emily – Initial Update
Dear Valued Customer:
Tropical Storm Emily has formed in the Caribbean Sea. Emily is the 5th named storm of the 2011 Atlantic Hurricane season.
Currently, Tropical Storm Emily is approximately 245 miles southeast of San Juan, PR, moving west at 16 MPH. Maximum sustained winds are 40 MPH. A tropical storm warning has been issued for Puerto Rico. This means that tropical storm conditions are expected within the next 36 hours.
Horizon Lines would like to encourage customers to furnish their northbound shipments as early as possible this week so all options to navigate around the storm can be explored. Customers with freight arriving on the island are also encouraged to pick up their cargo in an effort to mitigate delays and port congestion.
At this time, we do not anticipate any disruptions to our vessel schedules. We will update our customer base with any information that could affect our operations as a result of this storm.
If you have any questions, please contact your Horizon Lines Sales Representative
or Customer Service at 1-877-678-7447.
