PUERTO RICO SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Jacksonville Ship Channel Closure – Initial Update

Dear Valued Customer:

A North Atlantic Right Whale has entered the Jacksonville Ship Channel. As a result, the United States Coast Guard has closed the ship channel to all vessel traffic until the whale is safely guided back into open water in the Atlantic Ocean.

As a result of this closure, Horizon Producer voyage PD640N will be delayed on arrival into Jacksonville. At this time, our most optimistic cargo start time would be 1PM tomorrow. Realistically, could be further delayed, as efforts to guide the whale have been largely unsuccessful so far.

Horizon Lines will continue to update our customer base when more information is known about the disposition of this endangered mammal.

Horizon Lines is aware of the effects that ship channel closures have on our customers’ operations and will make every reasonable effort to ensure that effects from these delays are minimized. We will continue to provide timely and accurate updates on information that may affect your shipments.
