Hawaii Announcement : Tariff & Administration : Fuel Surcharge Increase – from 38.25% to 42.75%

Dear Valued Customer,
Horizon Lines has amended its Fuel Surcharge filing covering the Hawaii trade. Effective Sunday, August 17th, 2008, the Fuel Surcharge will increase by 4.5%, from 38.25% to 42.75%.
The amended Fuel Surcharge has been filed with the Surface Transportation Board and covers Horizon Lines’ tariffs 468 and 201. These tariffs govern shipments moving between the continental U.S. and Hawaii.
This Fuel Surcharge adjustment is the result of the continuing unprecedented escalation of the cost of fuel. Horizon Lines understands that this adjustment impacts your cost of doing business, just as these fuel cost increases have affected our cost of providing service.
Horizon Lines will continue to closely monitor fuel costs and will adjust the Fuel Surcharge as trends warrant.
