Alaska Announcement: Tariff and Administration: Alaska Tariff 301 GRI Effective 12/07/08

Horizon Lines of Alaska has filed today with the Surface Transportation Board a general rate increase of 5.25% in Alaska Tariff HRZK 301. The effective date of the increase is December 7, 2008.
We are taking this action because of increasing costs throughout our transportation network to and from Alaska. For example we are experiencing significant cost increases in marine operations (stevedoring and port charges), trucking, rail, terminal overhead and maintenance.
We will continue our efforts to minimize future cost increases.
