PUERTO RICO SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Tropical Storm Maria – Update 8
Dear Valued Customer:
The Port of San Juan is under still Port Condition X-Ray, which means that there is restricted vessel movement. The Port Condition will be upgraded to Yankee at 6:00 PM tonight. Condition Yankee means that facilities should terminate cargo handling operations. There is a potential that Port Condition Zulu will be set tomorrow mid morning in Puerto Rico. Condition Zulu means that all operations are officially suspended.
The center of the storm is located approximately 275 miles East-southeast of Guadeloupe, moving West-northwest at 14 MPH. Maximum sustained winds are 45 MPH. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Puerto Rico.
Our San Juan gate will remain open until 6:00 PM tonight. We intend to have gate hours from 7:00 AM-11:00 AM tomorrow, Saturday, September 10th. If the Port Condition is set to Zulu, we will close our terminal to protect the safety of our employees and customers.
To avoid potential issues related to the approach of this storm, customers are encouraged to pick up arriving southbound loads at our San Juan terminal as early as possible.
Horizon Lines will continue to monitor this storm’s progress and update our customer base with any information that could affect our operations.
