Horizon Lines Presented Platinum Carrier Award for Exceptional Service by Lowe's Home Improvement
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (January 23, 2008)– Horizon Lines, Inc. (NYSE:HRZ), the nation's leading domestic ocean shipping and integrated logistics company, has been awarded the “2007 Platinum Carrier Award” by home improvement retailer Lowe’s Companies Inc., based in Mooresville, N.C. The award was presented at Lowe’s annual carrier meeting held in North Wilksboro, NC on January 17th.
Steve Palmer, Vice President of Transportation for Lowe’s, presented the Platinum Carrier Award, the company’s highest honor for transportation providers, to Horizon Lines for delivering 99.9% on-time service. Charles Brown III, Vice President of Sales; Lymarie Gandarillas, Strategic Account Director; and Kathy Reeves, Business Development, accepted on behalf of the carrier.

This recognition marks the second consecutive year Horizon Lines has received the Platinum Carrier Award. Each year since 2001, Horizon Lines has earned Lowe’s Outstanding Ocean Service Provider Award for consistently providing superior service in the U.S. domestic ocean trades to Alaska and Hawaii.
